We visited this area last year,it is so beautiful, and totally unspoilt.
Instead of going to the beach which is lovely,we left the car on the car park and followed a farm track up into the mountains[we did ask a forester for permission]he was amazed that we did not seek LA PLAYA.
The track winds on for miles passing several farms. The wild life up here is so varied lots of wild birds, butterflies.amazing aray of wild flowers, and magnificent black horses. It is a wonderful walk through gorgeous countryside, and we promised ourselves we would go back, this year we have booked to do this May
Hola Howard, thanks for your comment, much appreciated! Its a beautiful part of the island around La Vall which is one of my favourite coves. You are spot on, the ‘Fincas’ up there hide some of the most impressive farmhouses and are surrounded by such varied wildlife. What time of year did you go on your walk? In the earlier months of the year before it gets to dry, locals love to go on a walk up to a natural pond called ‘Sa Bassa Verde’. Take a look at the post about it below. I’m sure the photos will indicte if it was the same track you went on. GRACIAS!
