Spain has done what has never been done and won 2 x Euro Cups and a World Cup in a row!

What a fantastic game to watch. What a match!
Such incredible play and passes from the Spanish team, not to mention the talent that was on the bench that didn’t even touch the pitch. Spain is spoilt with so many players to choose from at the moment, its no wonder they are number one in football right now.
The Euro Cup final was a much more pleasureable game to watch than the World Cup two years ago. We only had to wait 15 minutes for the first goal this time as opposed to sweating it out till extra time two years ago. There is nothing like shouting ‘Goooooooooooooooooooal’ while leaping to your feet for that first magic goal and hearing the same shouts of joy from the neighbours in all directions. Then to repeat it three times over was a treat. Mind you it was easy to feel sorry for the Italian team by the 4th goal as it was a complete domination and destruction by the Spanish side, who maintained possession for most of the game with the Italians chasing behind to catch up.
Congratulations to the goal scorers Silva, Alba Torres and Mata. Fernando Torres could have scored the fourth goal, but passed in the last second to team mate Mata to put the final nail in the coffin. Perhaps the real hero is Spain’s captain and goal keeper Iker Casillas, who has deservedly raised all three international cups in 2008, 2010 and 2012. The man was born to stop balls and lead his national team to victory.
By the time the final whistle blew, locals in Menorca were already spilling out on the streets from the bars and restaurants to celebrate with cars driving up and down the main streets flying the Spanish flag, beeping and singing. Its exciting to be in the atmosphere with the winning team: the Spanish know how to win sports and know how to celebrate them. The party in Madrid last night was proof of that. It quite rightly included a redition of Queen ‘We are the champions… of the world!’
Love being apart of ‘La Roja’.
